Battery Expert: China Has Head Start, But Don't Discount American Innovation
"He who makes the batteries will one day make the cars," says Jim Greenberger, founder and executive director of NAATBatt, a business coalition promoting the development and commercialization of battery technology. "If we lose the automotive industry because we’re underinvesting in technology, it would create huge economic problems for the country. So, we had to stop the bleeding with the current-generation technology. If we can’t be world leaders, we at least have to be able to hold our own in our own market."
