U.S. Light-Vehicle Inventory Rises in May from April as Affordable Vehicles Gain Some Traction

Executive Summary

While availability of lower-priced vehicles is improving, automakers are not backing away from pushing higher profit vehicles. With demand still strong for premium-priced vehicles, and availability for lower cost cars and CUVs rising, Q2 sales are poised to record a long-time-high 15.6-million-unit annualized rate, and the outlook for entire-2023 has been raised to 15.3 million.
