Double-digit gains recorded by each class resulted in U.S. medium- and heavy-duty truck sales to rise 62.3% in May.
U.S. medium- and heavy-duty truck sales totaled 38,743, up 38.6% compared to last April, when sales dropped to 27,954.
Large double-digit gains from all but Class 7 resulted in U.S. big truck sales up 31.4% in March.
Class 5 and Class 7 sales fell in February, 0.2% and 10.5%, respectively. All other classes saw gains for the month.
Double-digit losses were posted by all Classes in February except Class 8. Class 8 accounted for 69.1% of medium- and heavy-duty truck sales and 2.2% of all truck sales in Canada.
General Motors countered the industry trend, posting its fourth consecutive monthly year-over-year sales increase.
